………………………………………….A Tool. A Voice. Independence
In response to the current internal forced displacement of people in Colombia, this proposal involves digital media, free software and art and design to involve a displaced community in Medellín in developing strategies to improve their own welfare.
In the past few decades violence and upheaval in the political and social arenas in Colombia have led to the forced displacement of thousands from rural areas into the main cities. Instead of the shelter and safety that they seek, they often find adjustment to the urban life extremely difficult.
The project seeks to raise public awareness of this situation, and gain funding to set up education and employment projects and opportunities for these Internally Displaced Persons. Photography, radio, digital animation, web blogs, wikipedia, and a 3D digital model of what an ideal house for one of these displaced residents would look like, will be employed to highlight this urgent problem as well as suggest some possible ways in which to improve the situation.

……………………………………………………..Audioguide
The focal point of this project is the creation of an audio guide to be used by Cittadellarte, giving visitors an in-depth tour of the foundation. The guide will be used to give a description of the Art in Centro project on the first floor and the Architecture office of the foundation in both Italian and English, with the possibility that this will be broadened to include an exploration of the Unidee space and projects of former residents.
The spaces of Cittadellarte, will be explored through recording and experimenting with audio. Sounds from the Cervo River, textile factories and typical music recalling the former Trombetta Wool Works, on which the Foundation is based. As a communicative product, this audio guide combines clarity of information with experimentation.
